FAQ

How do I know whether tutoring is a good idea for me?
There’s no way you can know until you’ve taken a practice test.

  1. Check with your target schools to see the average and range of scores accepted. Also check GPA requirements, and think about whether you’ll need to compensate for a lower GPA.
  2. Take a free practice test, available online from each of the test administration companies (see Suggested Materials for links).
  3. If you’re close to the score you need (just a little bit under or over), you might do fine on your own!  If you’re further off, consider some professional help.

How do I sign up for a class or tutorial?
Register for a one-on-on tutorial by emailing me directly to discuss which tutoring schedule is best for you. For the group programs at UNM, visit the UNM MBA website.

What if I want to study with a friend?
Studying with friends can be a great strategy, and a small discount is available per student for small group (2-5 students) sessions. However, for a small group to work well it’s best if everyone’s starting scores are at roughly the same level.

How do I pay for my tutorial sessions?
I accept payment via credit card, check or cash. The group, 16-hour, and boot camp programs require payment in advance. For the 2 hour sessions you can pay as you go.

Credit card payments are processed through the secure Paypal system. Email for more information and/or to receive your Paypal  invoice. Fees include New Mexico gross receipts tax.

How much improvement can I expect in my score?
Score improvements are always dependent on the effort and attention that you put into your study, the amount of time you have to prepare, the particular test you’ll be taking, and the score you started with. My students improve, on average, as much as those in the more expensive big-name programs – and in many cases more. Contact me to talk one-on-one about your aspirations, strengths, and weaknesses, and I can give you a good sense of how much time you’ll need to reach your goal.
